Taylor Swift is an American singer and actress. She has toured around the world and is known for her musical talent. She is also a television personality and author.

She has won numerous awards and has made a successful career in the music industry. She is the highest-selling female artist in the United States and has sold over 150 million records worldwide. She is the first artist to have six albums sell over 500,000 copies in their first week and she has also won multiple Grammy Awards and VMAs.

The singer began her career in the early 2000s as a model and actress, but soon moved into music. She wrote her first song at the age of 12 and was taught how to play the guitar by a computer repairman. She performed her first music video in 2003 and has since released several studio albums.

After watching a documentary about Faith Hill, she decided to move to Nashville to pursue her career. She secured an artist development deal with RCA Records and signed with Sony/ATV publishing.

Her debut album ‘Taylor Swift’ was released in October 2006 under Big Machine Records and was a great success. The album topped the Billboard charts and earned her a platinum record.

With her second album, Fearless, she became a superstar and won the Grammy Award for Best Country Album. The following year, she released her third album, Speak Now and had over one million sales in the first week.

Her grandmother was an Opera singer and she has a passion for music. She has a lot of musical influences such as Shania Twain, LeAnn Rimes and Dolly Parton.

She grew up on a farm in Reading, Pennsylvania where she developed her interest in music and singing. She started writing her own songs and performing them at local events.

At age twelve, she won a national poetry competition and wrote her first song, “Lucky You”. She later moved to Nashville and was signed to RCA Records.

While at RCA, she met Dan Dymtrow, a manager who was instrumental in helping her develop her music career. He helped her find a recording studio and provided her with an electric guitar. She was also offered a chance to work as a model for Abercrombie & Fitch as part of their “Rising Stars” campaign.
